The 10 most common error codes on the Laars FT wall hung and FT floor mount boilers with explanations and most commonly seen causes and remedies




 


E10(Hard Lockout)-Flame has Extinguished 8 times: It is all about combustion. Air, Fuel, Spark. Burner plate. 
Error Code 10


E11(Hard Lockout)- Ignition Failed 10 times. Again, all about combustion. Air, Fuel, Spark. Ignitor, gas valve, blower, intake air, burner plate. 


E16(Hard Lockout)- Operating Temperature over 203 degrees F. Boiler pump, flow issues.


E20(Hard Lockout)-Condensate Switch Open (fault). Condensate trap, piping blocked, frozen. No vent on condensate piping (when hard piped). Cross contamination white substance blocking flue collector condensate drain. vacuum created. 


E40(Hard Lockout)-Gas Leak detected for greater than 5 seconds OR 3 times in 10 minutes. Gas leak in cabinet or close proximity. Off gassing adhesives, sealant, etc. on new installation. Cracked Exhaust flue piping in cabinet. 


E41(Hard Lockout)-Fan Speed too high with Flame On. Intake and/or exhaust improper installation, blockages, etc. Circuit Board Revisions! 


E44(Hard Lockout)- Air Pressure Sensor(transducer). Usually always about improper exhaust venting. Circuit Board Revisions.


E61(Soft Lockout)- Fan Speed Feedback Abnormal. Very rare error code usually caused by high winds entering intake or exhaust. Can also be indication of partially blocked exhaust or intake.  Error Code 61



E72(Soft Lockout)-Flame Detected Prior to Ignition. Almost always caused by debris on Burner Plate from intake. Debris on Ignitor as well. 


E80(Soft Lockout)-Low Water Level Detected 4 consecutive times. Usually occurs when air is in boiler or system. Ground out low water sensor to check. 


E94(Soft Lockout)- Exhaust Sensor detects Vent Temperature above 190 degrees F. Blocked Flue, Board Revision.
