For proper flushing of the heat exchanger the Laars MFTCW (Combi) boilers the boiler must be powered ON AND a call for CH (Heat) must be established to assure proper positioning of the three way valve in heating mode.
In addition to flushing of the CH Heat Exchanger, as referenced above, components and "safeties" should be visually checked and tested as required:
Pressure Relief Valve
Pressure Reducing Feed Valve (external)
Auto Air Vents
High Temperature Limit (water)
High Temperature Limit (combustion)
Low Water Cut Off ( Internal and External if so equipped)
Exhaust Temperature Limit
Optical Flame Sensor
Check all Zone Pumps and/or Zone Valves
Check Boiler Pump
Check Expansion Tank (proper pressure and condition)
Vent and Intake Piping (proper pitch maintained) free of obstructions and bird screen integrity.
Check Condensate Trap (internal for cleanliness and free of obstruction)
Check effectiveness of Condensate Neutralizer (replace media or device as necessary)
MFTCW140-Check Burner Screen ( Burner Screen is only on 140,000 BTU Models).
AN ANNUAL COMBUSTION ANALYSIS IS REQUIRED !
