LAARS FTCW , FTHW -ERROR 40 (gas leak detected)
ERROR 40 (gas leak detected) error code comes on to screen of LAARS FTCW , FTHW (seen on 199 so far BUT all sizes might be affected ) . As of right now we believe the serial # range is 2022-2023 but could possibly be more.
The boiler will be in a hard lockout at that time and error 40 will be in error history.
If the boiler is reset (power button ON DISPLAY pressed ) the boiler will reset and go back into operation... BUT DO NOT ACCEPT THIS AS A FIX !!!
ALL proper gas leak testing MUST be followed with a gas leak detector inside and outside of the boiler cabinet!
The button type gas sniffer on the printed board MIGHT also be hot to the touch.
If ALL potential gas leaks can be safely and thoroughly ruled out, then LAARS is requesting that the printed circuit board be replaced. DO NOT attempt to just replace the gas sniffer
