Tripping GFCI - FT Series Floor Boiler or Combi (FTCF199 or FTHF199) Installed with Zone Control.

Applicable Products: FT Series Floor Standing Models FTCF199 and FTHF199

Problem Statement:

When using zone controllers with FT Series Floor-Standing boiler and combi models FTCF199 or FTHF199, and using GFCI for power, it is possible that the GFCI could trip if proper precautions are not followed.

Solution:

To prevent the unit from tripping the GFCI circuit, ensure that the zone control and the boiler are both powered from the load side of the GFCI. If the zone control and boiler are not both powered from the load side of the GFCI, when L/ZC is energized to the zone control, the neutral will have no path back to the GFCI. This will cause the GFCI to trip. All local codes must be followed.
