Proper Valve Opening Procedure for SANCO2 GS Series Water Heaters
Overview
The SANCO2 GS Series Heat Pump Water Heater is designed to
operate efficiently under a wide range of conditions. However, due to the
higher cold water pressures commonly found in North America, it's important to
follow a specific procedure when opening shut-off valves during installation or
service. Doing so helps protect internal components and ensures long-term
system performance.
Why Valve Opening Matters
In some cases, quickly opening cold water valves can create
a sudden rush of pressure into the system. This brief surge can place
unnecessary stress on components like the internal water pump. While this isn’t
a concern in most global markets, where incoming pressures are generally lower,
North American installers should take extra care during this step.
Recommended Valve Opening Procedure
To ensure smooth system startup and protect internal
components:
1. Start by Opening the Hot Water Valve
This helps release any trapped
air and allows the tank to begin filling safely.
2. Slowly Open the Cold Water Valve
Gradually increase flow over
15–30 seconds.
A slow fill gives internal
components time to adjust and equalize pressure gently.
3. Observe System Behavior
Listen for any unusual sounds.
Ensure stable water flow and
check fittings for leaks.
This simple approach helps ensure a smooth startup and
supports the longevity of the system.
