tekmar 284 Suggested Sensor Locations For Primary-Secondary Systems

Note: the Closely Spaced Tee's shown between S2 and S3 is often replaced by a hydraulic separator.
Sensor Locations:
STOP: PUT BE SURE TO PUT ALL SENSORS IN THERMOWELLS WHEN PIPE IS 1.25" OR GREATER! SENSORS NOT PLACED IN THERMOWELLS WILL HAVE IMPROPER READINGS WHICH WILL CAN LEAD TO ALERTS AND ERRORS!
Below are the sensor locations for the tekmar 284.
The sample piping schematic shows two boilers piped in parallel in a primary/secondary layout.
- S6 & S7 - Each boiler has a supply sensor on the outlet of the boiler. The schematic below only shows two boilers, but this can be done for up to 4 boilers.
- S5 - Common return sensor on the primary return piping back to the boilers
- S2 - Supply sensor on the common piping on the secondary side of the primary/secondary piping.
- S3 - Return sensor on the common piping on the secondary side of the primary/secondary piping.
