House Control 370 / 371 Upgrade

House Control 370 / 371 Upgrade

This document (also attached) describes how to replace and upgrade existing House Control 370 or 371 systems.
The main controller, zone controls and RTUs (Room temperature Units) must all be replaced with the new tekmarNet House Control & Thermostat product line.

The new House Control connects to tekmarNet (tN2) thermostats which all provide the following upgraded benefits:
  1. Only 2 wires for power supply and communication required
  2. Indoor feedback for better performance and energy savings
  3. Zone synchronization prevents short cycling and extends the lifetime of the equipment
  4. Remote communication through tekmarNet Gateways 482 / 486
  5. Easy to read room and outdoor temperature displays
  6. Options with schedule and cooling operation available

Important Notes:
  1. WiFi Thermostats 561/562/563 and the Invita WiFi Thermostat 564 are not tekmarNet compatible!
  2. Only the RTU 054 is still available and the compatible controls are:
    1. House Controls 370/371
    2. Zone Controls 367/368
House Control 370 upgrade:

The following table lists a few standard applications and the recommended replacement with new controls. The tN2 House Control Brochure (400 – 403) covers many additional applications with tN2 Wiring Centers 313/314 and tekmarNet Thermostats 532/552.

Add Wiring Centers 313/314 for House Control 370 applications with:
  1. more than 4 zones
  2. mixed zone outputs (valves/pumps)

Note: The 313/314 and 400/401/402/403 require an additional 24V Transformer. It is important to choose a transformer that provides enough VA to power all thermostats and valves. We recommend the 24V Transformer 013 with 96VA!

*Add a 553/554 and use the existing 2-wires to connect a remote 076/084. Depending on the application an additional 009 or a 313/314 might be required

House Control 371 upgrade:

The following table lists a few standard applications and the recommended replacement with new controls. The tN2 House Control Brochure (400 – 403) covers many additional applications with tN2 Wiring Centers 313/314 and tekmarNet Thermostats 532/552.

Add Wiring Centers 313/314 for House Control 371 applications with:
more than 4 zones
mixed zone outputs (valves/pumps)
zones on Boiler loop and Mix loop

Note: The 313/314 and 400/401/402/403 require an additional 24V Transformer. It is important to choose a transformer that provides enough VA to power all thermostats and valves. We recommend the 24V Transformer 013 with 96VA!
